How I Charge

OWCP CASES

Federal Regulations do not allow fee arrangements in which contingent fees are paid directly to the attorney through or by OWCP. Instead, a federal compensation attorney is paid only for the hours he works on a case and must ask the client to pay his fee. 20 CFR § 10.702.

In the end, the fee is a fraction of what an attorney might earn with a contingent fee from a state workers’ compensation case.

If you and I agree that I will take action on your behalf, the amount of my attorney’s fee depends on the number of hours I work on your case, but, for the work covered by the fee agreement, the fee will not exceed $3,000.00. You may make monthly payments on the fee, and I accept Visa and MasterCard.

You will not owe any fee until we agree in writing that I will represent you. If you decide to have me help you, at the signing of the fee agreement I will ask for a retainer of $300.00 ($600.00 for proposed reduction or termination cases). Thereafter, I require monthly payments of $300.00 on the fee. I am unable to make exceptions to these terms.

OPM CASES

I handle requests for reconsideration and appeals to MSPB on an hourly fee basis.
